The original limestone structure was built in 1856 as a stagecoach stop when Burnet was in its infancy. Then it became the Calvert house, a hotel, and the home of the Galloway family. The Browns are proud to come full circle and once again offer travelers a welcome respite as The Verandas Guest House.

A Little History
A restored hand-dug well on the veranda once quenched the thirst of horses and travelers of long ago. Today the well supplies water for the water garden and Koi pond.

Wayne was delighted to see his plans for a Monet style bridge come to life with the help of a local craftsman. The bridge is a popular spot for taking photographs. Selecting each stone bordering the edge of the pond was done by Wayne personally, from stones on their ranch.
